I am seriously committed to this one and my first Sunday with Kathy's Quilts.
I know where everything is - and I am organized. BUT I have to wait for people to appear, give specific instructions on what I want, what it looks like and where it is. 20 items appear before the right one. At one point I had four of these very large DMC floss storage boxes - you got the entire collection in them. I am down to just the one - BUT I have 3 large tins and 10 of those plastic compartmented storage boxes full too - terrible. Since this is my 'oldest' floss I want to use it up when I can as new colors/dye lots just can't match up to them. So I was a little slow in getting the threads I wanted for my Doll Quilt stitching.
Seeing my photos - Think my camera needs charging - LOL!! I had visitors today which led to need of some nap time, so I only got the red sign portion done today. I changed from a 14 count to a 16 count - and no where on the chart was how many strands to use - I want a 'weather worn time period' look so just using one strand thru-out. And I did make out in the fine print - this Stitch World pattern is from 1995. I need some of my lights and set up changed so I can work on this Aida. Wonder if the three-stooges will show up to do that - sometimes things are comical. But, you have to enjoy life and laugh!!
I found all those 'extra' items brought by mistake are not going back where they came from - so I have a bit of a mess that is irking me - I am labeled as an "at risk" fall patient - things are everywhere.
Everyone stay safe and warm with this next wave of weather....

Sharon

This is such a great design. Love the old truck and Apple's falling out of the basket.
ReplyDeleteI love your organisation. Unfortunately once you're fully recovered I see a need for a reorganize again!Wishing you well with your recovery.
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing ok and staying safe and warm - no problem with finding something to do !
ReplyDeleteStay warm and keep on stitching your way to recovery, Sharon. Hang on to your sense of humor too.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and cross-stitching. It's a great patterns and it will worth each and every stitch. Hugs from Summer time in Brazil.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was closer so I could get you what you need and help organize the rest. Stay warm and recovering! I love the stitching project!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pattern you're working on. I used to do a whole lot of cross stitching before I rediscovered quilting! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWhere is your fairy godmother when you need her? Happily you made a start on your pattern. We had a blizzard on Friday, but today it is raining and in the 50's so you wouldn't know there was snow a foot deep a day ago. Tomorrow back in the deep freeze.
ReplyDeleteI love this charming chart. It's a great way to stay warm and snug while the weather is being so uncooperative. Today my boys have another day off... -45 this morning!
ReplyDeleteHappy Stitching!
ps May I ask what the name of your is?
I adore Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching...I really look forward to it -- I know you will, too! You've picked a good first project -- how fun it will be to stitch on! Are you home, Sharon? I got the feeling you might not be. Hope you're feeling better and stronger with each passing day!! {{{Hugs}}}! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect project for slow stitching Sunday and the weather we have been having is another reason to sit and stitch ;-)
ReplyDeleteToo bad we don't live closer. I think I could find your floss for you. That is a great project to work on when you are on curtailed activities.
ReplyDeleteYou're not home alone in your house are you? I can't imagine you taking care of yourself after surgery.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get everything settled in just the way you like it. Things are sure to go quicker once you get started.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and don't do too much. Wish I could come and help out'.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it will turn out lovely. Thank goodness we are in for a little warmer weather in the coming days. This bitter cold is horrible.
ReplyDeleteA perfect time for stitching with the weather as cold as it is. Burrrr...

I can't imagine how frustrating it is to have to wait on others to help you "get to" the things you want. But you seem to have a much better attitude than I would!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so frustrating to not be able do just do it yourself, but it looks like you finally got what you wanted. Your helpers will probably get better with time, so there is that.
