Christmas QAL - Day 2
I thought I would get those cabin blocks assembled and the borders on. It cracks me up how that green pin-dot photos so bright - because it's not! Hopefully later today I can get this sandwiched and quilted. I have another quilt on the machine (home machine) being quilted right now and I really want to finish it. There is a bow with ribbon and leaves with berries to be added to this - might get to those tomorrow.
I don't know if you can make out the beads on this. White, blue, and gold beads (no red or green) and some tiny white star buttons. Much more to be added. These are all being attched individually with metallic thread - a dickens to thread thru that needle!!
Beading needles to be precise. And I broke two and have two very bent ones - that is my last package of beading needles so hope they hold out. This piece is very thick with seams - so (sew) very slow going with the handwork. I don't dare put this under the machine. I found I can see better working on this project at night with my little Ott lite helper, so this will wait for tonight to work on.
So I have to get back to that quilt on the machine - Christmas projects will wait for later. Thank you Joanna for being such a lovely hostess this weekend.
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon
You are a busy little elf! Love your log cabin wreath...I have made that same pattern! Great idea to add beads, but it does sound a bit daunting. Bead on!
ReplyDeleteLove your blue Christmas tree and log cabin wreath. The beads on the blue trees ... great idea.
ReplyDeleteLove, love the log cabin quilt. The beads will be a nice glittery touch for the twister tree. Really nice projects.
ReplyDeleteThose beads look like a lot of work but worth it - so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWonderful work!! I can see the bead! I haven't sewn a stitch in 3 days. Better get off my lazy ????? today.
ReplyDeleteThe log cabin wreath is very effective. I hope your beading goes more smoothly now.
ReplyDeletewow Sharon those cabin blocks are awesome they look so good and yep my beading needles look like that too, lol.xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the green. Of course green is my favorite color. I always end up using straw needles or milliners needles for beading as I'm too darn rough with beading needles.
ReplyDeleteBeading needles are a nighmare. You would think they could come up with a better idea.
ReplyDeleteLove those log cabins!
The metallic thread is so worth it though. To me it looks like pieces of tinsel on the tree.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE the Christmas quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove, love that log cabin!!! My first blog visit in a long time and you are my first one!!! You are always an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteMetallic thread really is a witch to get on the needle, I sympathize. Love the log cabin quilt, I look forward to seeing a picture when it's completed!
