This is my Mom and Dad on their 60th Wedding Anniversary. An avid gunsmith and sharpshooter, boat maker, woodsman and fisherman, story teller, provider, teacher, artist, craftsman. We will be visiting the hunting cabin on the mountain where you now rest - just to the East of the front porch - your favorite view, watching the sun rise. Today we remember.
Today all of us who have seen our dads leave before us, will join you silently and be enriched by the values they have taught us.... They do live on forever in our hearts...
It's beautiful that his final resting place is where he is surrounded by the people and the places he loved in life. The thing I miss most about my own dad is that my children never got to know him.
Very touching!
ReplyDeleteLove that he's at his favorite view.
