OMG - March

I'm using the OMG challenge to move a project along to it's next phase.  This is probably my oldest sitting project that I have pulled.

I did these cross stitch pieces probably 10 years ago.  The site is no longer active so I can't give proper tribute to the designer, I believe is was a Danish site.

They got tucked away and forgotten.  Once found , I was into fabric framing my cross stitch.  These got pieced and never properly squared up because they got lost again.

I found them tucked inside a folded flimsy - in that deep bottomless tote!  I ordered some fabrics for sashing and didn't like any of them.  So they went on the shelf.  And many projects have since been completed with them forgotten - BUT not lost.

It is their time and I will find the proper sashing and I will get them into a flimsy (wallhanging).  They are bright and cheerful, thoughts of spring.

Whooping Friday

The Rainbow Unicorn - a Lorna McMahon @ Sew Fresh Quilts pattern - has been finished for my Grand daughter.  We had a sunny day on Monday and a couple of the sewing gals held the quilt outside for me.  Love how the sunlight plays across it.  It needs a good going over with the lint brush to catch thread, fuzzies, and cat hairs before I ship it out.

The tribe (or herd)  has been assembled and I hope to quilt this one next month.  The pattern is by John Renaud called 'Kidding Around - Goats in Pajamas'.  I bought this as a kit and there is plenty of fabric left over for another quilt (except background).  I am passing that on to a guild member (Monday stitcher here at the house) as she liked to make the pattern.

A good wrap up to the month of February.  We've seen little sunshine and too much cold/snow, so I hope March comes in like a lamb.  Maybe I have a lamb pattern to encourage that.

Scrappy Wednesday

It's back to rainy, cold (possibly snow), yucky days - time to play.  I had pieced that heap of stings a couple of weeks ago and I would like to do something with them so they off the corner of the table.  

Trimming them down and removing papers.  The yellow is left from the Unicorn quilt and I would like to use that up rather than store it.

I'll make as many blocks as the yellow allows and then we play with layout from there.

I didn't get too far with the RSC20 color for the month and there are only a few more days left.

OMG - February

I'm using the OMG @ Elm Street Quilts  to progress a project into it's next stage.  It might be a small step or a large step, but this month's was more of a challenge because it involved borders - and I hate borders.

The Threadology Quilt Along with Moda in 2019 has had it's borders added to create a giant spool.  It will now go into the 'to-be-quilted' pile - not for long as I plan to enter it in a Fall show.  I have the backing and binding fabrics, so once it gets to the top of the pile (or pulled) it will get finished off.
