Monday Making 11/13/16

I'll be joining BETH today for some very productive Monday Making - I need to Get-R-Done.

Yes, that Mod Bear Paw Quilt is just growling at me to finish it up!!

I have those tiny foot prints (and for real - Bear prints are huge) on the right side........

And there are prints marching down the left side.  So the top and bottom need pedal to the metal!!  Then there is a white border and (yes borders) then I am adding a brown paisley border to the outside to finish this one off.

Then a good pressing, clean up the ravels and thread, the backing is pressed and waiting.  This one I want to hand off to the long armer Tuesday.

I am Thankful to have a day where I can sit and power sew to my heart's content - even if it is borders.

Curve Class

Barbara - the tall one in the grey shirt - was our instructor.  We went over the different cuts and uses of the ruler to make some of the blocks.  Then we concentrated on just the one type of block as our sample for the day.
We have Mary (our newest guild member - and youngster), Nannette, and Ginny (chair of our quilt barn trail).

Kathy (our president), Matt (vice president), and Ron.  We are very pleased to have four men in our guild.

Ida referring to the chart for the right cut for the next step.  The hardest part was remembering which piece was cut convex and which to cut concave on the the one section of the block.

Karen - I think she is the tallest person , so work surfaces even in the lovely room St. Marks church provides for us are a bit of a struggle for her.

Diane - our height deprived member, and Jeri (my SIL).  I shared their space, but I was taking the photos - so no me to see.  I wanted to keep sitting at Diane's machine as we have the same little travel Brother - I confuse easily.

A couple of the blocks - yes, we each completed a block for the day.  We did take time to play around with the different units to see what we could come up with.  I was too busy playing to photo.

We even played with the 'cut-offs' to see how they could add to the block.
It was a great class and I see a lot of potential with this ruler.  

We went on-line and looked at some of her classes and thought it would be great to have the ruler designer - Linda Warren - come do a color theory lecture with trunk show for the guild next year.

Today I am Thankful for being able to spend some time with some wonderful, creative people.

Getting my Curves On
