Scraps and More Scraps

Have you been following SARAH'S scrappy progress?  I don't want to get rid of mine, just tame them.  And I normally keep a good handle on them.

BUT with commission deadlines, these new bags of goodies got stashed aside and I am overwhelmed now.  I actually had a huge garbage bag of scraps donated a few day ago, but I let out class ladies go thru it and what was left I gifted on to the church sewing group.

I need to start sorting these bags and scraps to get into their proper 'stash system' food chain I have.  I will be leaving the large pink bag for later as someone has decided it is a great place to nap today.

I have a few hours this morning to start, then off to visit the grandkids for a bit.  Then I'll tackle some more when I get back (although I may need a little nap first).

Starting to See the Light

A few commission items have been finished and will be going out the door today.  I think I can see a light at the end of the tunnel - may take a while to reach it.

Next item up is ready for quilting - my Aunt's scrappy quilt.   And NO, my furkids are not cooperating for the Pets on Quilts Show.  We even took some quilts out side for a play and photo temptation - NO!

I think I need a little retail therapy.  I want to give a shout out  for my friend Kris over at Lavender Quilts.  The stinker is moving!  And has a great sale going on over at her Etsy Shop so she doesn't have to move all that fabric.  Remember to use the code Moving25 to get 25% off your entire order.

Slow Stitching Sunday 8/14/16

I have 2 and half bindings to finish up today, so will be joining KATHY with a day of slow stitching.  I want these done and hopefully out the door tomorrow - one commission checked off please.

I did make it to the one quilt show yesterday.  I took no photos as they were jammed into a single room and it was crowded - you would have seen backs of heads, not quilts.  And I was good - two soft book panels for some charity quilts and a wildlife panel for a 'window' quilt.

One member heard I take scraps for quilts and she passed on this big bag.  I had another huge garbage bag gifted mid-week, but passed that on to the local church sewing group.  I need to clear out commissions so I can play in all the scraps that have come in lately.

Today starts the link up of Pets on Quilts Show - you have the week to link and then the voting starts.  I will be late to the party because....

All across NY state there were severe storms.  They are calling them 'micro-bursts' - not tornados.  I don't know, got swirly and wild here.  So we have some clean up to do.  Yes, that branch buried in the ground came from a tree on the other side of this field, not the ones in the grove.  A couple of trees were hit by lightening, but with the heavy rain, no fires.

Moe and Bella are still hiding...............

Whooping Up Feline Friday 8/12/16

Some of you commented that my furkids on the porch looked like puddles in this heat.  Well, they do come in and enjoy the AC, but as you can see - they are still puddles.  And though they will lay on every project in progress, neither of them want's to cooperate for photos for the Pets on Quilts Show.  I may have to get creative for that one.

I am Whooping it up with Sarah as I am actually on to the last bit of quilting on the fourth commission wallhanging.  Then on to those bindings so I have some slow stitching for the weekend.

And for putting that big push on with a semi-unplug, I am treating myself to at least one of these quilt shows if not both.

I came across this with my LQS - you can check HERE and see if there is a quilt shop near you that is participating.
