Slow Sunday Stitching 5/15/16

Slow Sunday Stitching

It's been a couple of weekends since I joined in on a slow day with Kathy, and I need a slow day today.

I need to catch up on my '365' circles.

I want to finish off my projects from yesterday's class.  I know I promised more of this today, but S. and I agreed to 'reveal' about this on our Monday Blog posts.

And after several days of rain and gloom - I think the sun is going to shine today which calls for a walk.

RAIN

Friday the 13th brought us a lot of heavy rain, but a friend washed up at my door safe and sound.  This has been so hard to keep a secret.  She came with gifts for me - a hexie mug rug and some chocolates.  And Zorro and Squeekie sent Moe and Bella little cat nip toys.

This morning I went thru my supply list and re-checked my little sewing basket.  Off to take a morning class and then an afternoon trunk show with my secret washed in friend.

I promise a reveal and photos tonight (if you know who Zorro is, you know who I am talking about).  I'm so EXCITED!!

UFO Challenge

Jo over at Jo's Country Junction always put's out a challenge to finish up one of Bonnie Hunter's projects before the next mystery.  This time she has one to encourage finishing up a project before Bonnie's new book comes out in September.  The only BH I have right now is the Wild & Goosey blocks that have been piling up and that makes for a good reason to start geting these into the next stage.  Since I am on a very fixed schedule right now, these will be done as I can grab some time, but the hardest part is already done.

I said there would be no 'squirrels' - well..........  A lovely lady called and asked if we took scraps.  A huge garbage bag of pretties came while I was at a meeting.

Yes, I dumped that bag!  Sorting can get done - and what ideas are dancing in my head. A nice pile of CW repros is forming, too.  Things to put into the FQ totes and some wedges (hmm).

There will be sharing - there are some large assembled blocks with their left over fabrics and I will pass those on to the church group.  There are a lot of bits of modern/brights that will work nicely for a coin quilt and the smidges of those into some cute log cabins - see - ideas........  As I grab time, this table will get cleared.

In One Day

I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day.  I had a lovely phone call with my daughter and the grandkids.  And my youngest son and girlfriend came for a visit and lunch.  Then a long nap!  The grey, rainy, busy days have taken a bit of a toll.  I am behind on my goals for the Hillside Houses.

Since I have one day before a streak of busy days, I am going to try and get as many house blocks done.  Everything else has been put aside so I can concentrate on these - NO squirrels!

Sharon
